Nutrients in food help your body to grow properly and stay healthy.
No matter what kind of food we eat, it will be digested by body into 6 forms of nutrients: Protein, Carbohydrates, Fibre, Fat (Fatty Acid), Vitamins and Minerals.
 
   
 
Proteins Food which help you grow and repair damaged and worn-out parts of the body. This is to build our muscles.
Carbohydrates Food that contains a lot of starch and sugar. They give you energy, excess carbohydrates will store in your body as fat.
Fat This is food reserve to give energy. There is good fat and bad fat.
Vitamins They are often named after the letters of the alphabet. You need to eat small amounts of each vitamin to stay healthy.
Fibre The part of food which is not used up by your body. Fibre helps you to push the food along inside intestine while it is being digested.
Minerals Metal helps our body stay healthy.
